August Favourites

Hi lovelies,

August has been a great month! My sister got great A-level results and got into her first choice of university. I've definitely made the most of the summer weather and gone on lots of day trips to farms and national parks. It was my friends going away party and she had a huge full moon party, complete with bucket cocktails, which was so much fun.

Hair rollers

I haven't used them before this month in about 2 years so it was really fun experimenting with them again! I love big curls and I have really enjoyed doing something a bit different with my hair lately. I still use my large barrelled curling wand too but rollers just give so much lift without having to backcomb your hair.

Mary Jo Lipkit

Honestly, I am so in love with Kylie Jenner's lip products they could all make an appearance on this list, but this one really takes the cake. Great colour, super pigmented, feels great, you can't go wrong. I just love this shade.

Essie Nail Varnish is Ballet Slippers

I really like Essie's nail varnishes. This shade in particular is so pretty. It's really natural and a great shade. Another selling point is it's not all watery. You don't need six coats of it despite it being such a light shade. It's a great colour for work or school.

Under eye masks

I am a huge fan of these eye masks. They're completely inexpensive and make such a difference to your complexion. I got these from amazon, the link is here. (This is not sponsored, by the way, I just had a bit of trouble finding them when I first bought them so I thought I'd make it easier for anyone who wants them haha).

And a little something not beauty related,

Suicide Squad

I went to see Suicide Squad this month in the cinema and I loved it, I even went twice. I know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea but Margot Robbie is so great in it. I really enjoyed it and will 100% be getting it on DVD as soon as I can!

Hope you enjoyed this post, what beauty products have you been loving this month?

Outfit of the day

Hi lovelies,

I wanted to share with you my hair and outfit of the day.
I did my hair with a 28mm ceramic barrel curling wand. Mine is from Tresemme and you can get it here. I also used rollers. I bought mine ages ago from a pound shop and I completely love them still! I use my wand to curl my hair and then, while my hair is still hot I put a roller in it.

Here is my outfit. The top and trousers are from Mispap. They're part of the Megan Mckenna range and come as a set and only cost £25!! The sandals are from Missguided.

I've been reeeeallly busy lately finishing a huge project off for work but I will be posting a lot more very soon I promise!

Kylie Lipkit Review: Mary Jo

Hi lovelies,

So I have to admit it, I am a huuuuge fan of Kylie Cosmetics. I'm not really a Kardashian fan in the sense that I don't really watch the show or anything, but I am a lip kit and gloss fan.

My most recent purchase was actually the Koko K lipkit, which I am a huge fan of, but I just have to show you all Mary Jo. Loads of makeup artists swear by it and I first saw it on Olivia Munn. I knew I had to get one. I actually failed twice before I finally managed to remember there was a restock! Here are some photos of me wearing it.

I absolutely love this shade! It is really matte and will not budge which is so great for a red lipstick.
I have heard such mixed reviews on the lipkits but personally I really like them. They feel great, as long as you don't put on multiple coats. Plus they smell SO GOOD! Honestly they're so pigmented you really only need the one application. They have awesome staying power too.

What do you think of the lipkits?

Travel Diary: Rhodes

Hey lovelies,

So here is my super late post on my holiday in Rhodes, Greece. My boyfriend Shawn and I went for a week and it was so great. I absolutely love Greek food, and the island was so beautiful. We took a boat trip to Lindos on one of the days and it was so so gorgeous. The hotel we stayed in was stunning and had a private beach, 6 bars, 4 restaurants, a pizza place, and a whole load of other amazing features. Shawn made fun of me for being so excited about having a mini fridge that was free to use. Here are some pictures from our trip.

The boat trip to Lindos was definitely one of the highlights of our holiday. We also went kayaking which was so much fun, I live in a seaside town and I really want to go kayaking again now that I'm home. I don't think it will be quite the same as in Greece though! The weather was literally perfect the whole time we were there. We were so grateful for the aircon as it was so warm there!

I hope you guys all enjoyed this post! Did you go on holiday this summer?

Graduation Party Recipes

Hey Lovelies,

So like I said in my last post, I recently graduated from University! My family gave me a party at home which was really lovely. Instead of having a sit-down meal, as we did this after my graduation on the day, I thought it would be fun to just have some of my favourite foods instead. I love tapas, seriously I think 80% of my OOTNs are me going for tapas and cocktails, and I also really love Mexican food! We wanted food that was really low effort and could be prepped before everyone got here so here is some of the food we made and the recipes.

Patatas Bravas

500g waxy potatoes
300ml olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 red chilli, finely chopped
400g tin chopped tomatoes
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp salt
1 tsp smoked paprika

1. Preheat the oven to 200C. Peel the potatoes and cut into rough 2cm chunks. Put a roasting tray with 2 tbsp olive oil into the oven and leave to heat for 5 minutes, then take out, toss the potatoes in the hot oil, and bake for about 45 minutes until crisp and golden.

2. Meanwhile, make the sauce. Put 2 tbsp oil into a heavy-bottomed pan on a medium heat, and cook the onion for about seven minutes until golden and soft. Put in the chilli, and cook for another couple of minutes, then add the tomatoes, sugar, salt and smoked paprika and stir well. Bring to the boil, and then turn down the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until thick and dark.

3. Take the potatoes out of the oven and sprinkle with a little salt. Spread the tomato sauce onto the plates, put the potatoes on top.

You can also make this in advance and then reheat it in the oven, it's still amazing.

Tomato Chicken Fajitas

4 Chicken Breasts
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
1 pinch ground cumin
1 red onion

1. Finely chop the onion. Chop the chicken into pieces. Add the onion, cumin and paprika to the chopped tomatoes. Mix well and then add the chicken.

2. Put the chicken and sauce in a bowl or food bag overnight to marinate.

3. Add a tablespoon of oil to a frying pan and cook until cooked through.

Sweet chilli spicy pork rice in lettuce wraps

This recipe is so so good and is ridiculously easy.

500g of Pork Mince
4 Tablespoons of Sweet Chilli Sauce
250g of Rice
Any kind of lettuce that forms a cup shape, like Bibb lettuce leaves

1. Add a tablespoon of oil into a pan. Cook the meat until brown.

2. Add 4 tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce.

4. Boil and drain the rice.

5. Add the rice to the pork and chilli sauce. Check if it's spicy enough, add more sauce if not. Leave to cool.

6. Chill the pork and rice in the fridge for about 3 hours.

7. Spoon the mix into the lettuce cups and serve.

Here are some pictures of the table. We also made Chorizo in red wine which is literally cutting the chorizo until it's 2 cm thick, pouring red wine over it and heating it in a pan on a low heat.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post,
